Homepage Panda ("we", "our", "the app") is operated by an individual developer based in New Zealand. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.

What the app collects

License activation

When you activate your license, the app sends your license key and a machine identifier (your Mac's hardware UUID) to our payment processor, LemonSqueezy, to verify your purchase. Your email address (provided at checkout) is returned by LemonSqueezy and stored locally on your Mac in a license file. This data is not sent anywhere else.

iPhone home screen data

The app reads your iPhone's home screen layout (app names, folder structure, widget positions) via USB. This data stays entirely on your Mac. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with anyone. Automatic backups of your layout are saved locally on your Mac.

Update checks

The app checks homepagepanda.com for available updates on launch. This request contains only the current app version. No personal data is sent.

No telemetry

The desktop app does not collect usage analytics, crash reports, or any telemetry. It connects to the internet only for license validation and update checks.

What the website collects

Analytics

Our website (homepagepanda.com) uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service. Plausible collects aggregated, anonymous data including:

Plausible does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, does not track you across sites, and does not identify individual visitors. No personal data is collected. Because no cookies or personal identifiers are used, no consent banner is required under GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA, or PECR.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not run ads.

Third-party services

LemonSqueezy

Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, which acts as Merchant of Record. They handle your payment card details, sales tax, and order fulfillment. We never see or store your payment card information. LemonSqueezy's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.

Plausible Analytics

Website analytics are provided by Plausible Analytics, subject to Plausible's Privacy Policy. Plausible is built and hosted in the EU, does not use cookies, and does not store personal data or IP addresses. All data is aggregated and anonymous.

What we do not collect

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data storage and security

All app data (license info, backups) is stored locally on your Mac. License validation communicates with LemonSqueezy's API over HTTPS. Website analytics data is aggregated and stored by Plausible on their EU-based servers.

You have the right to access and request correction of any personal information we hold about you.

European Union (GDPR)

If you are in the EU, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, as well as the right to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

We do not sell personal information. If you are a California resident, you may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected. Contact us at the email below.

Children's privacy

Homepage Panda is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
